Westwinds Board and Lodge
Westwinds Board and Lodge will be a
long term housing situation for mentally ill adults.
Target Population
The average Westwinds resident will
have an SPMI diagnosis.
They will probably have extensive experience with
the mental health system. They will have demonstrated
difficulty in maintaining stability in an independent
living situation. They
will probably be eligible for medical assistance,
although this in not necessarily a requirement as long
as they can afford the room and board fee.
Staffing
There will be overnight staff 7 nights per week.
Sleeping will be allowed.
In addition, there will be a ¾ time staff during
the week. This
person will work
12 to 6 PM
. Their
duties will include supervision of clients, making sure
food is prepared and the house is clean, and
coordinating appointments, etc.
There will also be ARMHS staff on site at various
times delivering services to individuals and possibly
groups—up to a total of 48 hours per week total.
Cost
Room and board fees
will be $1186/mo. The
client is responsible for this fee.
If they can not afford it GRH will pay the
balance; leaving the client with the standard personal
needs amount.
Transportation
When possible
Westwinds staff or ARMHS staff may provide
transportation. However,
this should not be an expectation at all times.
Public transportation will probably have to be
used on a regular basis.
Referral Process
Currently, all
referrals go to Shelley Erickson @ 320-235-4613
