"New
Connections " Youth Day Treatment
Kandiyohi County
The Youth Day Treatment
Program offers help for children and adolescents who
face serious emotional disturbances. The program
allows students to remain in the classroom and community
while they receive group therapy, living, social, and
recreational the
rapy
skills therapy. These services are designed to
assist the development of self-management of moods and
behavior and allow the student to return to mainstream
classes.
Family involvement is the
key to success in the program. The staff will
arrange home visits to discuss each youth's progress in
the program and provide support and education.
Home-based services can also be provided through our
program.
Eligibility:
Youth must have a diagnosis appropriate to Day
Treatment, determined by an evaluation through Woodland
Centers, and referral must be consistent with youth's
individual treatment plan. A Woodland Centers'
application for services and access to funding must be
completed by a parent or guardian. The youth also
must be a resident of Kandiyohi County, and if not, have
guaranteed funding for the services.
Programs are available
during the school year and summer both.
