Psy. D., L.P. Licensed Psychologist
Dr. Melissa Maas is a licensed psychologist, with a specialization working with adolescents and children. She provides a variety of outpatient services including psychological assessment, individual therapy, and family therapy at the Willmar and Olivia offices. She has experience working and providing clinical supervision to many of the youth programs in the past and currently serves as a consultant/supervisor to several multidisciplinary teams in our communities.
Dr. Maas’ therapeutic interests include working with individuals who suffer from symptoms of depression, anxiety, family problems, adoption related issues, and the impact of trauma. She is trained through the Ambit Network in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Intervention for Trauma in the Schools (CBITS). She has also completed training and consultation for Permanency and Adoption Competency Certification (PACC) and has training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) for adolescents.
Dr. Maas received her bachelor’s degree in Child Psychology from the Institute of Child Development at the University of Minnesota in 2001. She earned her Doctorate of Psychology Degree from The Minnesota School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University Twin Cities in 2005. She has worked at Woodland Centers since 2006.
